Enough Time for Bellagio/Lake Como From CT

Our Itinerary begins: Arrive Rome 5/26 @8;30 am (3 nights) Train to CT 5/29 9:00 am 5 hours right? (3 nights)7th Day 6/2 an early train to Milan and bus to Bellagio - Is this doable? (2 night stay) leave Bellagio on 6/4 to somewhere in Tuscany for 6/5,6, & 7. Travel to Rome on 6/7 last night at a cheap hoteland close to airport - fly home 6/8 mid afternoon. My question is: Is adding the Bellagio area to much and is it possible. Having trouble finding a place to stay for just 2 nights and train connections. I think my train book is to old. Thank you, Cindy

Cindy,

I agree with the previous post - using a Bus to get to Bellagio is not the method I'd suggest. It's only a one-hour trip from Milano Centrale to Varenna, a short walk down the hill to the Ferry dock and then about 20 minutes to Bellagio.

If you're having trouble finding a place to stay in Bellagio, why not consider Varenna? There are a good range of accommodations there, and it's incredibly easy to see Bellagio (or other spots on the lake) by taking day trips. Check Rick's Italy book for lodging suggestions (or post another note here, I'm sure the group will have lots of suggestions).

If you're intent on staying in Bellagio and have a LARGE budget, you could have a look at This Hotel.

If you have any questions on rail connections, post another note and I'm sure some of our rail experts here will be able to help.

Happy travels!

I don't know why you would want to change from train to bus...you can catch a train up to Varenna right across from Bellagio, then catch the ferry (a short wait most days in June)
