We have booked our tickets from Napoli Centrale leaving at 12:30pm to Roma Termini (that is set in stone.) However, we need to get from Sorrento to Naples first. While I know we can take the Circumvesuviana or hire a taxi, I'd like to take the Campania Express. The only train available to get us to Naples on time is the 10:30am train (arriving Napoli Girabaldi at 11:09am). My questions are will this give us enough time between trains? And am I asking for trouble with only having one train option from Sorrento to Naples? I have experienced the unreliability of the Italian train system before so I know I might be asking for trouble pre purchasing a train ticket that only offers one time that fits with my schedule. But maybe I'm over thinking this. Thoughts??

It is a low risk I like your chances. The two stations are connected.
Just make yourself aware of the next train to Rome and be prepared to buy another ticket
