End of trip in Milan - what to do?

We are ending our 2 week vacation and flying out of Milan on a Sunday late morning flight. We are coming in on Saturday mid morning and will be staying by the central train station so should be easy to get around if required.

Don't really want to do a marathon site seeing expedition but would really like to take in the city and food for the day.

Suggestions appreciated.

I enjoyed walking around Navigli. I think the major antique market is on the last Sunday on the month, but it it is still a neat area to explore along the canals.

The Milan Duomo might be among the most cathedrals in Europe. You can take the elevator to the roof and walk on it, enjoying a commanding view of the region. Across the street from the Duomo is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, reportedly the oldest shopping mall in Italy. It's not a bland American-style mall, but an elegant gallery. And you could see Leonardo da Vinci's famed "Last Supper" painting at the Santa Maria delle Grazie, a UNESCO's World Heritage site.

If you haven't seen the cathedral and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II they are right next to each other and an easy tram ride from the train station area. There is also cathedral roof tour for a view of the city. This is a couple hours of relaxed sight seeing in city center.

If you like fashion don't miss the Armani Silos museum. These are harder to get to with public transportation - it's in the area of the Last Supper church - and is well worth it if it's your thing.

Get your ticket to go to the roof of the Duomo a little before sunset. It's stunning from up there! Highly recommend.

The best central thing IMHO is to explore the roof of the Cathedral. We alas were too late this fall when we had one night after arrival in Milan before a trip to Florence the next morning. We did it years ago. It is quite singular and stunning. The interior of the Cathedral is also wonderful -- but it is the roof that is the amazing unique experience. Then walk around the center. We had one of the best ice cream cones ever at a shop not far from the central plaza.

Note that The Last Supper requires careful, long in advance purchase. Viewing time is limited, exit required after time expires.

If you can get tickets, the Last Supper is incredible to see. Otherwise, I recommend the Duomo Square area - piazza, cathedral, rooftop, underground ruins, museum, shopping gallery. That should be plenty to do Saturday afternoon and evening. Good luck!

Wow these are great!

Thinking the Domo, Galleria and the Piazza are going to be plenty enough.

Hope that cioccolatitaliani place has non-dairy for my wife, otherwise she will be very jealous because I love chocolate!

You have time only for the Duomo and the Galleria. Go to the naviglia area for dinner - many restaurants there. Milan is the heart of the apertivo culture, and you get many great deals for that 5 PM drink.
