Email from Vatican stating refund is on the way

We had tickets to the Vatican for late March. Out of the blue this evening I received an email from the Vatican implying that I will be getting a refund for the tickets. I had not contacted them at all, I figured it was a lost cause.
I just wanted to pass this along in case someone else was wondering about Vatican prepaid tickets.

I'm waiting to see what happens as I have Breakfast at the Museum on April 24th. I've cancelled my trip to Europe this year and will plan for next year. Thanks for the info and I will wait to see how things go in the future.

I got one too, hadn't even asked. It was for the Friday Happy Hour. Also booked on the Scavi tour, haven't asked about that, much less money.

Do you know what dates they are honoring refunds through? We have tickets for April 3.

And anything on Accadamia refunds? We have tickets there April 8.
Thanks!

Catholic organizations connected to the Vatican state that the museums currently state that they are closed until April 3rd. If your tickets are for or after that date, you may have to wait and see if the closure date is extended in order to receive a refund. Same with the Accademia (also currently closed until April 3rd).

I had Vatican Museum Night Openings Guided Tours & Happy Hour tickets for the evening of April 17. I got notification of refund even though I had not reached out to them. I also have tickets for the Scavi Tour through the Excavations Office - I contacted them and they were very gracious about rebooking. Now that the EU is putting a 30 day travel ban in place, I have to wait and hear from British Airways on what I expect will be a cancellation of my flights.
