Elevator to the top of St. Peter's & WiFi

Do you have to make a reservation for this elevator & is here a charge? Also is old Rome covered by free WiFi (some cities do provide this)?
Thanks

No you do not need a reservation, Yes you need to buy a ticket.

I recall the price being like 10 euro for the elevator, less if you opt to climb the stairs. The elevator only gets you to the roof of St Peters, from there you can go in to a balcony overlooking the interior, I will add that being on the floor and looking up is very deceiving, up at the lip of the dome looking down really puts into perspective how massive the place is.

The dome itself is all narrow stairs between the inner and outer dome, bit much if you are claustrophobic, but the view is worth it.

Re: WiFi, I do not recall universal free wifi, but that might have changed, I do recall that nearly all access requires (or did) password access as an anti-terrorism measure, so that means asking for the password at restaurants, bars, hotel, etc.

Elevator only halfway...the rest is climbing some steep and twisting stairs
