Hubby and I are looking for a 2-night stay in Stresa 25-27 August. Has anyone stayed at Elena Hotel and/or do you have other suggestions/recommendations?
Thanks!
Back in 2004 we stayed at Hotel Meeting in Stresa. Not fancy by any means but the food was very good and the innkeepers were just marvelous. We stayed there only one night to decompress from the transatlantic journey - I have recommended it to others in recent years and they have had a similar positive experience - have fun.
I spent one night in Albergo Luina in May and one night in Hotel Primavera a couple of years ago. I can recommmend both. Luina is more intimate and less expensive. Both are clean and had friendly, helpful staff.
We just came back from one night in Stresa after our Village Italy Rick Steves' tour. We booked it ourselves and it was very nice. Ask for a room in the front with a balcony overlooking the main square. Even though it's a busy square, the windows keep out the noise. Was very nice sitting on the balcony and reading and checking out the scene in the square. The front desk doesn't speak much English but was very nice.
Thanks all! I went ahead and booked a room there. We are looking forward to our trip!
