Electrical outlets/cigarette lighters in Italian Rental Cars

Does anyone know if the size and shape and voltage of the electrical ports in Italian rental cars are the same as the US? I have one of those adapters you can plug into the cigarette lighter and then plug 110V devices like cameras etc in to charge and I'm wondering if I should bring it.

I would imagine they are standard. I wonder though how much time you will spend in the car. Will it be sufficient to charge your devices?

They work fine and charge fast. My suggestion would be to get a doubler for the ligher so you can charge a couple of things at once or run the gps (it'll work for a while on battery only) at the same time.

Yes, and you may even find that if the gadgets are recent they can be plugged in with just a simple and cheap adapter. If you look at the block or the input and it says something like 110/220v 50/60Hz you would be good for world usage and good to go. Of course that would have to be the case with all of them on the trip. Otherwise, if it says something like 115v 60Hz they will go PHUT! perhaps with a shower of fireworks if you just plug in. You will be fine with your gizmo that plugs in the cigarette lighter.
