Electric Mobility Scooters

Has anyone rented one of these scooters? The one I'm looking at has large wheels to go over cobblestones. My hotel has offered to have it left in the lobby! Any info would be appreciated i.e. can you lock it and leave it outside museums if they don't allow them inside? Can you ride them everywhere on Rome streets, etc?

Thank you,

Jean

You need to connect to someone who can give detailed information about transport while disabled in Italy.

We just spent a couple of weeks in Florence and the sidewalks we used from outside Porta Romana into the center and many of those in the center were far too narrow and obstructed for electric scooter use. there are cars in the streets even in pedestrian zones. I cannot imagine it would be practical to use such a device in many Italian cities and did not see any in the Uffizi or other museums. BUT you need to connect with someone who has actually dealt with these issues to find out the tricks for making it work.
