Does anyone know anything about Elba Island? I saw some pictures of Port Azzurro and they looked beautiful. Or are there other islands you would recommend that are lovely, but untouristy?

We did one side of Elba as part of a bike tour a few years ago. We didn't spend much time in the main sea port, but rode the roads and over the spine of the island and spent a night in a beautiful sea side hotel that had a nice beach (but it was too cold in May to use the beach for sunning/swimming!)
I feel like Elba is pretty much not on the tourist map for Americans so you should enjoy a quiet time there. The island is pretty, mineral mining was their main economy. The ferry ride over was a few hours.
you know that Napoleon was exiled in Elba- so there's some history for you!
