Looking for any recent experiences, you may have had with the EES system when departing from Milan. How much time did it take? We have a 9 AM flight. We flew into Rome, and it took over two hours to get through EES at that airport. I want to make sure we leave ourselves plenty of time. Thank you!
You're not the first person to ask this question, and unfortunately, there is no particularly
reliable answer anyone can give right now. I would not necessarily make schedule plans
based on anecdotal advice on the forum.
But, if you are departing the EU, rather than entering, I suspect it will be less of an issue,
so the standard guidelines should be sufficient. If you're in business class or not checking
luggage, you might be able to fudge a bit.
No personal experience, but from reading the various post on the subject random seems to be the operative word, as it relates to "how long will it take?"
You had a 2 hr process entering at Rome; others report 10-15 minutes.
