First time traveling alone in Europe. I made last minute plans to attend a conference in Milan. I am wondering if anyone knows cheap hotels in both these cities. I posted before but cannot find my post. I am looking to spend around 50-60 euro/night.

Take a look at Hotel Garda in Milan. Within walking distance from the main train station. Clean and simple rooms.
I've stayed at Hotel Maxim in Florence. I don't know your dates but I see that their single rooms are as little as 44€ per night for a single but their price varies depending on demand. They are located on the main pedestrian street, easy to find and easy to get around.
