eBike in Cinque Terre

Hi all. My wife and I are doing Village Italy in the fall. The tour has one full day in the Cinque Terre with no planned tours or activities. We are considering doing a 4 hour ebike tour from Levanto that goes to Vernazza and the National Park. This would still allow us half a day to be in Cinque Terre on foot (or train). Any experience or opinions if a half day ebike tour is a good use of time, or better to spend the full day on foot (or train) to really see and “experience” Cinque Terre.

Thanks so much for any insights.

PHG,

We visited the area in 2019 with a car. We drove from Vernazza to Riomaggiori. The Golfo de Paradisio Ristaurante above Vernazza has good food and a great view. I would suggest skipping the bike ride due to the hills and narrow roads and just get to Riomaggiore which is where we stayed. There is a train and a ferry between the towns. We took the ferry going out to Monterosso and the train back. The train was very crowded.

I had a great e-bike/Mtn bike ride with a guide near Parma. Our favorite town was Lucca. Flat for walking and you can ride a bike around the top of the wall surrounding the city.

Thanks for the replies. We are leaning toward doing the ebike tour in the morning, and then picking 2 or 3 villages to visit (via train) for the rest of the day. Hopefully that doesn’t cause us to miss out on any “must see” spots. So much to do, so little time !

We are so looking forward to our Village Italy tour !

With such a limited time in the Cinque Terre, I'd suggest skipping the E-bike tour, as half a day (probably less in reality) won't allow you much time to see the five villages or enjoy other activities like hiking or swimming.

I’m sure the e-bike ride would be fun. I personally wouldn’t give up the experience of hiking the Cinque Terre, I thought it was incredible but we all have our preferences.
