Hi, I am leaving for my trip May 12th (getting really excited!) and I was wondering what the local customs are for eating off your spouse's plate in a trattoria style dining in Italy? My spouse and I are big fans of "you order this, I will order that and then we will share". Just wondering if Italians view this as impolite.

there were five of us and we did it all the time. Great way to taste it all! no one cares, ask for an extra plate.

Last night I went out for dinner with two men from the UK, 1 woman from Spain and 1 woman from France. We were all trying each others food.
