Does anyone have any experiance with this company? their rental rates for Verona were quite a bit cheaper than anyone else's, and I'm wondering if they are scam artists? I did find them on Kayak, so I feel they have some crediblity. comments?
Part of the "Easy" franchise, they act as brokers...they don't actually rent cars themselves. Probably as much dependability as other brokers operating on line. Another couple with cheap prices are holidayautos.co.uk and carjet.co.uk. One thing to remember with ANY car rental firm (and the big ones are notorious for not telling you of this) is that your collision damage waiver will usually NOT cover you for all damage to the car. They will charge you an "excess insurance value," which means they'll take anywhere from 500 to 1200 Euro off your credit card as a deposit for the "excess value" of the vehicle over what the CDW will actually cover. You can get rid of this with a daily fee....but watch that when comparing rates....I've seen it from a low of about 2.50 Euro per day to as high as 12 Euro/day, with the same car! As well, even that likely won't cover things like broken glass (stone in the windshield, someone breaks into your vehicle) or tires....so many companies are now offering yet another insurance level (and yet another daily fee) to drop that to zero as well. It all depends on your comfort zone.
Norm,
Thanks for the great info. I have actually seen quite a few negative things about easycar after doing more research, but as they are brokers, the info would really be sitedependant. No one has mentioned anything about experiences either way with easycar in Verona.
Do you know, if I have a photocopy of my visa PLATINUM agreement which clearly states that it will cover all damages to rental cars even IN ITALY will they still make me pay that insurance deposit?
ALSO DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH EASYCAR IN VERONA??!!
Thanks again,
Tracy
