I will be in Rome at the end of May for my grandson’s h.s. graduation. Since I have been to Italy more times than I can count, I want to spend a few days seeing something new. Pre-covid we had a trip planned to the Alto Adige and to the Trieste area; and everything was booked. That got aborted, of course.
Circumstances have changed. I am now widowed, and I have some mobility problems due to hip and knee replacements. I know I can get a high speed train from Rome to Trieste. I would like to find a guide or guided group for Trieste. The Requirements are that it not be hellaciously expensive and - - $200 tops for half day - - and that it has a fairly serious focus - - art, history, culture.
I also have a yearning to see Aquileia and/ or Grado. Same requirements for a guided tour.
I have done a fair amount of internet research and come up with either what sounds like rather superficial tours or outlandish prices.
Any recommendations anyone?
I applaud you for carrying on with travel despite your setbacks.
One idea might be to write to a good hotel and let them you know you are considering staying there but, before you book, you need to find out about a tour with your requirements, or a guide. The tourist office would be another source of info.
