My wife and I will be in Sicily over the Easter weekend and I was wondering if tourist sites will be closed? If everything is shut down Friday through Sunday, what would be a good town to stay where we could still take walks and enjoy the atmosphere? We will have a car so even hiking in the countryside would be possible for us. Thank you!

My husband and I spent Holy Thursday and Good Friday in Enna about 10 years ago. The Good Friday procession was one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily and I think about it even still. Don’t miss it!

We were in Caltagirone over Easter weekend a number of years ago and also loved the procession. I really can't remember whether things were shut down. But I do remember we learned that Easter Monday is also a holiday.
