Easter Week in Florence and Rome

We will be in Florence through Good Friday, and then spending several days in Rome (including Easter). We are excited about visiting churches and seeing processions. Does anyone have experiences to share that will help us plan the rest of our time? Thanks!

Susan, your exact dates for Rome and Florence would be helpful. When are you arriving/departing? What else beside Easter events are you interested in seeing? Have you made pre-reservations for any of the other attractions in either city?

Hi Kathy. We will get to Florence on March 16 and we are staying in an apt on the Oltrano side of the Arno. We are going to Siena for one day and to the Duomo another. We do not want to overbook ourselves because we love to wander, watch, and meet new people. And shop in local markets and then cook whatever looks good. The only thing we have planned for Rome is a visit to the Borghese. We might go to Ostia Antica for an afternoon. Home on March 30.

We don't plan to go to a specific church service, but always enjoy stopping in to observe and see art in situ. Does that help?
