Are there any restrictions or things I should be concerned about if I want to plan a trip to Italy during Easter and the week after? Wondering if prices are higher that week, if there are big crowds but especially about things being closed.

We went this past Easter. You've just got to work around Monday after Easter being a national holiday. Most attractions are closed on that day, but the rest of the week will be normal. The crowds are mostly through Sunday around religious sites.
We found the Rome subways to be slammed on Monday. We didn't know if they were running a decreased train schedule or if there were just extra people in town for the weekend.
