Easter Monday

We are trying to figure out our itinerary for our trip. We will be in Milan for Easter and would like to take a day trip on Easter Monday. We don't know where to go because we don't know if things will be open since it is considered a holiday there. The places we are considering right now are Parma, Brig Switzerland, and Florence. Does anyone know if tourist attractions, restaurants, and stores will be open in any of those places? If you have any other suggestions for where to go, I would love to hear them. Thanks so much!

Museum websites will tell you the days of closure. Check the ones you are most interested in for Florence. Florence is hugely touristy so I'm sure there will be no shortage of shops and restaurants open.

I wasn't aware there was enough in Brig to make it a day-trip destination, but I may just be ill-informed.

I'm not certain about Milan or its surroundings but in Florence, museums have special openings for Easter Monday. They aren't released until the week before, though. I'll be there for Easter weekend also.

You could spend a day visiting some of the small lakeside towns on Lake Como. There are trains to Como the town from Milan and from Como you can take ferries to most of the lakeside towns. There are also several palaces around the lake that can be visited. I would expect all services to be running on Easter weekend.

Thanks for your help everyone. We are going to spend a day in the Lake Como region the week before Easter. Seems like we may now take the train to Verona, sightsee there for a few hours and then get a tour to Lake Garda/Simione (did I spell that right?) on Easter Monday. How does that sound? Thanks again!
