Easter Mass on Sunday at the Vatican

If Mass starts around 10AM or so on Sunday, what time do people recommend getting to the Vatican to get a decent seat/location? Does anyone know if the Pope tours the crowd prior/after the Mass to greet pilgrims?

You might want to check at snatasusanna.org, which is the American Catholic parish in Rome to see if tickets are needed for the Easter Mass or not; also you can click on "coming to Rome" on their website for more information.
We got our tickets for the Pope"s Wednesday presentation from them and they asked for a donation, but it wasn't required.

Thanks Jerry. We were assured we have tickets from the Bishops office in Rome. But I will take a look at the site. I didn't know if anyone had any experience with the Easter Sunday Mass and what time was recommended we get there. Thanks again.

How lucky to have tickets. It will be very crowded and I would recommend going early around 7am. Being at the Vatican for Easter is a once in a lifetime opportunity for so many people that I would count on it being crowded especially since everyone would like to hear Pope Francis. There will also be extra security. Grab a quick espresso and pack a snack. Time will pass quickly.
