Easter in Rome

What suggestions do you have for navigating Rome on Easter week-end? How do we find out what is open and closed on Easter day? Thanks

Because of the Pope's retirement, and the upcoming Conclave to elect a new Pope (date yet undetermined) I believe most of the Vatican sites are either currently closed or will be closed. Unfortunately no date has been set as of today. Speculation is that a new Pope will be elected before Easter. Last year on Easter, I was In Rome, and pretty much all restaurants, piazzas, etc. in tourist areas were open. Easter Sunday and Monday most indoor sites will be closed. We made dinner reservations for Easter Sunday before leaving the U.S. in a restaurant close to our hotel just to be sure. Basically all outdoor sites will be open. Most museums that require a ticket will be closed Sunday and Monday.
