Easter at St Mark's in Venice

Hi all,

So, we will be in Venice until our flight leaves 12:30 on Easter Sunday. We would love to attend church before we leave, but I'm unsure about schedules at St. Marks or other churches - I've searched their website - but no specific times listed for that particular day. Obviously can't afford to get stuck in a throng of people and miss our flight. Also unsure about the whole luggage issue -I suspect we wouldn't be able to carry our luggage with us to church. We are willing to go very early to a service then back to hotel, check out then to airport. This schedule does seem jammed as I write this - could anyone speak to the services in Venice or have any sources? Many thanks!

If you go to www.basilicasanmarco.it, and the Liturgical Calendar page, it shows the times for Masses. It looks like you would need to go to the 7:00 a.m. Mass (lasts a hour or less) in order to make it to the airport. Where in Venice will you be staying?

Yes, thanks I did see those times but thought perhaps for Easter it might be different times.
We are near the rialto market area, so a 7 am should allow us time to get back to hotel before departure. Thanks

Yes, I'm not 100% sure, but it is one of the times listed under 'Holidays'.

BTW, I've flown home from Venice twice, allotted 3 hours from arrival at the airport until flight, and didn't really need nearly that much time - they really get people through there efficiently.
