Hello. What would be the easiest and least expensive way to travel from the Grand Visconte Hotel in Milan to the Palace Hotel in Como. There use to be a train but it looks like the station has been closed. Any advice? How much do you think it would cost to hire a car? Thanks.

Como has multiple stations on two different lines
- Como San Giovanni on the main line from Milano Centrale to Chiasso and Lugano.
- Como Borghi and Como Lago on the line from Milano Nord Cadorna. Como Lago is the terminus of this line and is, as you might guess from the name, on the lakeshore.

Where did you hear the erroneous information that these stations had closed?

The Palace Hotel in Como is next to Como Nord Lago station, so take the train from Milano Cadorna. From the Grand Visconti Palace Hotel, take the Metro or taxi to Cadorna station.
