Easiest travel from Sorrento to Montepulciano

I don't necessarily want the cheapest option but all private tour drivers are way to expensive plus I want the quickest option which isn't driving all the way. Renting a car is not an option. I think a combination of train and car is good but what is the best
way? I am thinking of driver ( recommendations?) from Sorrento to Naples instead of local train. Then taking fast train from Naples to Rome. Next taking Train from Rome to nearest station in Montepulciano . Do I need to switch trains in Rome or is there one from Naples to station near Montepulciano ? Then take a taxi instead of bus from local station to hotel in historic area of Montepulciano . I know taxis will be more but we are 50/60 year olds with luggage so need some convenience to the transfer. Thank you so much for your help! I've booked the entire trip based on things I've learned from all of you!

You do need to get to Napoli Centrale first, in whatever way you are comfortable: bus, Circumvesuviana, or private driver. From Napoli, a Frecciarossa train to Roma and two more trains plus a taxi. Here is a typical itinerary from www.Trenitalia.com. You can research schedules there yourself to fins one that suits you.

11:00AM Napoli Centrale to Roma Termini, arriving 12:10

13:03 to Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, arriving 14:49

15:10 to Montepulciano arriving 15:23 - From here take a taxi to your lodgings.

I believe there is a bus from Chiusi to Montepulciano, according to Rome2Rio.com.

There's a direct Intercity train that departs Napoli Centrale at 10:31 and arrives in Chiusi at 14:08. The direct Intercity takes about a half hour longer than changing at Roma Termini but might be a better fit for your "easiest" criteria. The bus from Chiusi to Montepulciano is a city-style bus, so it's easy to take a suitcase onboard. Downside of bus is that it arrives at the bottom of town and you'd still need to get to your hotel at the top of town. Upside is that bus plus local taxi would likely cost considerably less than a taxi from Chiusi.

You can take the bus all the way to the Bus terminal which is more or less at the bottom of the town, then take the lift which will get you part way up the hillside. Or, you can get off the bus at Porta delle Farine before it gets to the terminal. This will save u a bit of climbing, but you will still need to climb.
