Early October swimming in Cinque Terre

With the recent topic about water shoes, I wanted to ask if anyone has swum in CT in early October? Not looking to sun bathe, just would love to have a dip in the Ligurian Sea while we are there. If water would be too cold, then I'd leave water shoes and suit at home. Thanks!

Bring them just in case...normally early Oct. is still beach weather, check temperatures up the day you are departing...last year in early Oct. in Capri much further south... it was wet and rainy..no swimming, 2 years before I was all over the Amalfi coast sweating, swimming and loving it in the first week of October...

Enjoy!

Yes, I've probably done all of my Monterosso swimming in early October and found it quite pleasant. Have done the same in other parts of the Mediterranean where the water was relatively shallow or sheltered.

Thanks, I'd hoped that it might be like the Atlantic here in NC - stays warm in the fall and have been swimming in October. Will of course be watching the weather for packing when we get close.
