Can anyone recommend a dependable and reasonably priced driver that can take us from POSITANO to the Naples airport for an 8:45 am flight to Genoa?
What time would you suggest we leave POSITANO to get to the airport with a comfortable waiting time?

FYI....we used a driver to pick us up at the Naples train station drive us to Positano and the return trip a week later. On our return trip the driver mentioned that it was hard even for them to determine how long the trip, either to the train station or the airport, would take due to so many variables.....construction, congestion and accidents. My advice would be to book your driver and then take their advice as to departure time to make your flight. We used Simply Amalfi and they were excellent.

We used a driver when we had to get from Positano back to Naples for a train to Rome. The train was at 10:45 and we used Aldo Limos for the transfer. The driver picked us up unbelievably early - I can't recall how early - but we needed the time. Traffic was extremely slow getting into Naples.
With an 8:45 am flight, you'd need to leave pretty early. I'd use a transfer company and let them decide. Not sure how many nights you have in Positano - but could you just go to Naples the night before?

Have you considered spending the night in Naples? A lot less stressful of an option...the airport is very close to city center.

You would need to leave by 5:30. I'd spend your last night in Naples. 15 min taxi ride to the airport. 22,00E.

Ditto to the above: with a flight that early, I'd stay in Naples the night before. Besides not having to get up in the dark, it'll probably cost you less than hiring a driver.

Not worth the risk and stress. Stay in Naples on your last night. I have done this from Capri ( ferry to Naples) when I had a late morning flight like 11am...but it was still stressful getting up early and dealing with all that travel on one day...now I arrive in Naples in early evening and have dinner, relax and sleep! I stay near the train station. Enjoy your trip!

Yes, an 8:45 am flight -- you don't want to be leaving from Positano that morning. Stay in Naples.

Thank you so much everyone for your replies!! It looks like the best option would be to stay in Naples for the night prior to our flight. Less stress and the certainty of getting to the airport on time.
