Does anyone have recommendations for transportation from Piazza Navona area (Via della Maschera d'Oro) to Vatican Museum entrance for an early morning tour? It's the Key Master's tour- so we have to be there by 5:45 or 6 a.m. If we need to reserve a taxi, does anyone have a recommendation? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
We took an early morning taxi (5:45 AM) to the Rome airport to fly home, and that was arranged by the owner of the apartment we rented. What are your lodging arrangements? Can someone there pre-order you a ride?
On our last visit to the Vatican Museums two years ago, we went early (opening time for group tours), but not so early that the Metro wasn’t running, and that’s how we went.
Schedule an Uber ride
There is a cab stand at the piazza. That would be your best bet. We tried booking a cab, they never showed up. Uber is very limited.

Before you try that you may want to read the comments in this earlier post ( especially the reply by Roberto)

Before going to Rome, I located taxi stands near my Airbnb (Piazza Campo Dè Fiori) and was able to get a taxi whenever needed. However, on the morning I was heading to the airport, I had to wait for 15 to 20 minutes, which was a bit unnerving. Next time I'll probably use the FREENOW app.
When you exit the Piazza Navona go out the northern exit and a stand is on the right. They are typically lined up there as early as 5:00am. Uber and FreeNow are both decent choices too. Cab Roma and Stefano's Rome Cabs are one's I have used in the past for super early transfers and they were great.
Thank. you all so much for your replies. As always, the RS Forum people are a huge help! I am going to download the recommended apps (Roberto da Firenze) and also look into prearranging a cab with the recommended companies if necessary.
Thanks again!
