Early morning flight from Naples

Hi Damian, My son and I also had a 6am flight out of Naples on our trip in May. Note: The Naples (NAP) Airport DOESN'T OPEN UNTIL 5AM. We stayed at a very nice reasonably priced, Rick recommended hotel (Hotel Pinto Storey) in the Chaia neighborhood which is right by Piazza Amadeus (one of the nicer neighborhoods in Naples) and fairly close to the airport. The hotel is located on the 4th and 5th floors of a building (office is on the 4th floor). Our room, which was on the 4th floor had a lovely balcony with a BEAUTIFUL view of Piazza Amadeus on the left and homes on the right Ask for a room with a balcony and a nice view, especially Piazza Amadeus. The buildings are up on a hill, which reminds me of Positano. Georgeous! Our room was nicely appointed and comfortable. When you arrive, ask the hotel staff to book you a shuttle and they will make sure you arrive at the airport in plenty of time, as the hotel is only about a twenty minute drive away. You pay the driver directly. For two people, it is around $29 Euros. You wait until the time you are supposed to be picked up, then go downstairs and either the driver will come up to the door or you may need to step outside to look for the driver. But you don't need to step outside ahead of time. Our driver came up to the door. The driver should be given your name by the hotel, so ask the driver your name to make sure that this is in fact your ride. (Our driver didn't know any English and we were the only ones getting picked up, but that was no biggie). I am very happy with the experience. You may want to inform the hotel also before you go there to give them a heads up that you will be needing a shuttle, but they won't actually book it for you until you arrive. We paid 98 Euros for one night. If they don't have a special, mention Rick, as they can give you a Rick Steves discount. Happy travels! Ruth
