On a Tuesday I have a 6:05AM out of Florence Airport, staying at Room Mate Luca in city, will I have an issue getting a taxi, suggestions on when I should get a pick up to get to airport with enough time to check in (how busy in Florence airport?), should I book taxi in advance, or will hotel call it for me?

I would talk to your hotel at least the day before to set up a pick up. You are probably not their 1st guest to need to do what you are doing.

The airport opens at 5am. It’s very small with only 7 flights between 6 and 7am, all on small regional airplanes. It’s not a busy airport and check-in procedures should take you 5 to 10 min. The walk to the gates through security another 10 min. Try to get there at 5am and you’ll be more than fine.
The taxi ride is 15 min. Your hotel should be able to call one for you if they have desk service that early, or they can book one the night before. Try to leave the hotel by 4:40am and you’ll be at the airport before 5am.

We flew out of Florence on a 6:30 am flight 6 weeks ago and asked our hotel to arrange a cab to pick us up. Hotel suggested pickup at 5:00am. I asked for 4:45am to allow time incase the cab didn't show up so we could walk to the train station to catch a cab. Cab showed up at 4:40 and we were at the airport within 30 minutes. No lines to check bags, and no lines going through security. It's a pretty small airport. I think if you arrive at the airport at 5:00 you are good.
