Ear buds

Can I use my Apple earbuds pro in place of the earbuds that are given during our tour?

Sadly, no. The "whisper" devices they use on the tours -- at least those I've been on -- use disposable wired earbuds. If you have your own wired earbuds or headphone you could use that -- it's a standard 3.5mm plug.

The good news is that it's just a guide's voice. As long as the volume is right, the sound quality doesn't much matter. Beats having to huddle up together or listen to a bullhorn.

Actually YES, you can use them. We used our AirPods last year on our Southern England tour and they work great, BUT you have to have a bluetooth device that allows them to work. We used the Twelve South AirFly Pro Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter, you can get it from Amazon, it very small and compact and it works perfectly. It also allows you to listen to the monitor on the airplane screen wire free.

Just as both previous posters said, You can't use air buds on their own, because the connection for their earpieces is wired.

but, as Lucky Girl said, if you buy the AirFly transmitter, you can.

I highly recommend the Twelve South AirFly transmitter Lucky Girl mentioned - it's wonderful! I haven't taken it on a tour but I do use it on the flights over and back so I don't have the wire constantly dangling, and it works very well. You can find it on Amazon or any place that sells electronics, including its own website. Great travel product.
