Tried to e-mail several hotels in Italy from Rick's book but kept getting error messages. Even used the hotel's site with an e-mail to send and get the same error message. On others, had no problem. What could be the problem.
When I've had this happen with overseas hotels, it usually turns out that the hotel has changed its email address.
Usually (but not always) the hotel's own websites have the most up-to-date contact info.
We have found that, for some reason, hotels respond better to faxes. You could give it a try?
Thanks for the advice. Have tried their websites. On one I left a telephone message twice and faxed them, but the fax would not be processed. It was the same number as the telephone number. Will keep trying at different local times. On others, just found another hotel where there was no e-mail problems.

You might try sending the E-mails from a different compputer than your home computer. The problem could be due to a "conflict" between the net provider you're using and the Hotel computers. Which Hotels were you contacting?

I just got other hotels. I did get through to one finally on the telephone, and they were full.
