If anyone has recently visited the Duomo in Milan I would appreciate your thoughts. There are many ticket options for the Duomo and I am a bit confused. One ticket combination offers the Duomo sites and additionally access to Pinacoteca Ambrosiana. I would like to visit both during an upcoming trip. The ticket is valid for three days from the start date, as I understand it. However must you visit both the Duomo and Pinacoteca Ambrasiana on the same day or can you split the visit over two days?

Both the Duomo rooftop and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana require timed entries. My understanding is that you need to choose times that fall within the 3 days covered by your ticket but they do not need to be the same day.
fyi: I was there this past October. I do remember being confused by all the ticket options. I went with the lift combo which was the option recommended in the RS book. I ended up visiting the Ambrosiana museum several weeks later buying a discounted over 65 ticket the day I visited.
