Duomo Florence & Reservations

Hello All,
I'm trying to navigate the Duomo website (iengrandemuseodelduomo.waf.it) and understand the reservation system. One can reserve the museum and the Bell Tower (am not doing the Dome stairs) but not the crypt, the bapistry or the cathedral. I'm really trying to avoid lines. I know the Bell Tower is physically separate from the cathedral and I'm assuming the museum is too. So my question is, if one reserves a ticket to go up the Dome but doesn't really plan on doing that does anyone know if that lets you get into the cathedral (avoid the line) and then you can just "miss" the stairs. Or are they really organized and if you don't head straight for the stairs you cannot access the cathedral?
Thank you.

The big line (going around the block) is for the stairs, entrance on the side -- if there's a line of people going in the front entrance, just come back later. Usually not that much of a wait to get inside the cathedral itself.

We just got back and what we did was use one of the tour group companies that was standing out front. It only cost 15 euro and we got skip the line entrance into the duomo and a 30 minute tour of the inside of the building. It was really worth it to save the time of standing in that line.

We are in Florence now and it is very crowded . The slow line is to climb the dome...ticket needed. The line to enter the duomo is fairly long but moves quickly...no ticket. We bought the 15 euro ticket for the baptistery, museum (which is fabulous), bell tower ,and to clinb the dome. The ticket is good for 48 hours but only one visit per site. If you are not climbing the dome everything else is very doable and hassle free.
