Has anyone recently ordered an advance ticket for doing the Duomo climb and other Duomo sites? Rick's Florence and Tuscany book suggests making reservations and gave a website "www.museumflorence.com" but I can't find that exact site and the other Duomo sites don't have a combo ticket that includes the climb.
The Duomo website says this: "The Dome can only be accessed on a contingent basis with one of our companions or guides, following the restricted rhythms of the slot and not independently. No lift is available and there are many steps..."
Hmm, what distinguishes a companion from a guide? And who could’ve anticipated rhythms of the slot? Hope the OP gets the reservation(s) without too much trouble.
Keep in mind that the info in RS guide books and any guidebook actually that has not been published in very recent weeks is not going to be accurate due to all the COVID changes
You need to look at the official websites for most current offerings and restrictions
Here is official site:
https://duomo.firenze.it/en/discover/cathedral
Appears the only combo tickets offered now are Museum and Baptistery or Museum/Baptistery/Santa Croce
If you cannot climb the duomo..sometimes super crowded..you will be more in awe..IMHO..of the bapistry..enjoy!
Just to clarify you can buy tickets to climb the Dome
But not in the combo that OP was looking for
