We are planning on doing both the same day. Which would be best to do first thing in the morning? And then the other right after? We want to climb the Duomo but I also know the Accademia will be busier as the days go. Would be better to do the Accdemia first thing and then climb the Duomo a little later in the morning?
We visited in Mid May...and decided to visit the Academia at 9:30 (we were driven in from Impruneta so couldn't get the earliest time). Even at that time, it was really busy. We then scheduled our Duomo visit at 11:30 am. The Duomo line took us about 30 minutes to get in (We didn't climb though). As an aside, because we did not know if we were getting back to Florence, we scheduled the Uffizi for 3 pm. This heavily scheduled day was the one I worried about but it worked out. (However, - if I was doing it again, I would not recommend all three in one day...would move the Uffizi to a different day or another trip).
