Dropping my rental car at Fiumicino Airport: How much time do I need to check in to my flight?

I will return my car to Fiumicino Airport and my flight leaves 14:45 from terminal 3.

I was told that Hertz is located in Building E, However when I found a map of the airport the rental cars didn't look like they were in Building E. So confused where to drop the vehicle.

Tried checking the airport map to figure out how much time i will need to drop off car and get to my check in counter. And if there is a shuttle or just walking. Does anyone have the experience to advise me on this?

Just follow the signs for rent a car return and look for Hertz. It doesn't matter if it's D or E. They are all parking structures across the road from the terminal. There are aerial walkways above the street where you can walk to the terminal. Not sure if there are also shuttle buses, but you can walk to the terminal using those aerial walkways. The walk is no more than 10 min, returning the car may depend on how many people are in line, but give yourself an extra 30 min for return/paperwork/walk and you'll be safe.
