We will be driving from San Gimignano to Verona and dropping the car off at Hertz at the airport. Does anyone have any tips on getting there? Is it hard to navigate to the car rental area?

Well I'd just google the official airport site and check out the information there. And know the Italian words for "Rental Car Returns" as every airport I've been to is very well signed as such. Should be something like "ritorna auto a noleggio"

Are you flying out of Verona? If you are staying in the city you should return the car at a city location. Most rental companies are located near the train station (Verona Porta Nuova station) which is very easy to reach from the A4 autostrada (freeway).

We are staying in Verona; however we arrive on Sunday and the car rental at the train station is not open. We are reluctant to drive into the city as we have done this before and found it very difficult. So I have arranged to drop the car at the airport and take a taxi into the city.
