We're going to be driving from Venice to Salzburg on a Monday in July. Any suggestions on route to take or things to see along the way. Are there any wineries along the way to visit?

Hopefully you realize this drive, mostly on highways, is about 6 hours non stop. That means no stopping for snacks, lunch, bathroom breaks, etc. Also, driving after having a drink or two can be very costly if stopped by the police. Is there any way at all you can spend a night on the way? If so, take the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse on the drive. Otherwise I'd probably stick to the highways as much as possible and go as direct as possible. Are you staying "in" Salzburg, such as by the old town, or nearby? If going "into" Salzburg on a workday, plan to arrive before or after "rush hour". It's terrible.
