Driving tour of Tuscany

Hi,

I am planning a trip to Italy with my partner in October. We have four days to spend in Tuscany. We plan to spend day 1 & 2 in Florence. Then we want to spend day 3 & 4 seeing the countryside of Tuscany. What would you recommend as the best way of doing this? At the moment I am considering hiring a car in Florence and driving through either Chianti or Southern Tuscany, with an overnight stay in Siena. Thoughts?
