We are planning to drive from Bellagio to Cinque Terra (Monterosso al Mare). We've driven into Monterosso once before, but 15 years ago. That was an exciting drive then. Is there anything new I should be considering? I know parking is tight once there, but am not too worried about that. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

As I recall there are two routes to Monterosso, one into the old town and one into the new town.
They were building a multi level parking garage at the top of the old town but I have no idea of any progress has been made on that? There's a gate just below the parking area and it's a ZTL area past that so private vehicles can not enter.
The parking area in the new town is right on the beach and of course there's a cost. I don't believe it's possible to drive past that into the town, again because it's a designated ZTL area.
If you're staying a few nights, which end of town to park will depend on where you're staying. It's not hard to walk to hotels from either of the parking spots.
The Cinque Terre has become very crowded in the last few years, and the crowd level will likely depend on when you'll be there. As always when driving in Italy, each driver will require the compulsory International Driver's Permit, which is used in conjunction with your home licence.
