Driving the SS 230 rd Groseto toward Siena

I am taking the train from Pisa to Grosseto, renting a car in Grosseto and driving to a villa in San Lorenzo a Merse. This will be my very first day ever of driving in Italy. Has anyone driven on the route SS 230/ E 78? How is this road for driving?
