Has anyone driven SS 508 from Bolzano to Castel Tasso/Casteltono to pick up the A22 to Innsbruck? Google Maps gives a different route that would mean repeating a large section that we would have driven on the way to Bolzano, and we would prefer seeing something new. We looked at the terrain view for SS 508 and it doesn't look like it has a lot of hairpin turns.

SS508 is a beautiful road but it is quite narrow and twisty, even though there are few actual hairpin turns (by the way this type of turns aren't hard to negotiate IMO). It is slow. Worthwhile detour if you want to.
