Driving itinerary for 4 days in Tuscany with a home base in Castellina in Chianti

My family of 4, with two college aged children, are driving from Pisa to our lodging in Castellina in Chianti. We are planning on an additional 3 days of touring and then dropping the car in Florence. I wish to see Sienna and San G. and a few more sights if possible. Any suggestions on what I should see and how to structure my driving routes?

Besides Siena, you are close to the following pretty towns:
San Gimignano, Certaldo, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Colle Val D'Elsa, just to name a few. Also the area south of Siena (Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino) is not that far. Castellina is along the Via Chiantigiana SR222 from Florence to Siena, a must drive, especially if you like wine tasting.

Rick gives priority to these Tuscan hilltowns, listed under At a Glance. It's prudent to have some ideas in advance, but the flexibility of the car will also allow plans to evolve as you go.
