Driving into Rome

Can anyone recommend a good car rental drop off location on outskirts of Rome so we don't have to drive into city center?
We have had good luck with Hertz though could use Europcar or open to other recommendations.

You can probably drop at the airport and take the Leonardo express train into Rome.

There is also a branch of Hertz by the EUR, easy to get to the center by metro after. Closed between Saturday lunch and Monday morning though.

I think the airport would be easy, but you might want to add what direction you are coming from.

It’s not necessary to go all the way to the airport. That choice will cost you over $50 in taxi fare to get back into the city. There are plenty of offices in town which are more convenient. Which one exactly depends on the direction you are coming from.
Termini station or Tiburtina station are not too hard to reach, but there are many others.
Check locations below (zoom into the city of Rome).

A few years ago we asked the rental co. which drop off office was closest to our hotel/b&b/apt. without going to far into the city then took a taxi to our accommodation. It was only about $20 Euros for the 4 of us with luggage.

We have used the Tiburtina location for car rentals several times. There is easy access to the freeway.
