Driving instructions leaving Europcar at Via Borgo Ognissanti Florence.

Hello. Some years ago I got some wonderful driving instructions (since lost) on how to motor away from Europcar at Via Borgo Ognissanti in Florence on our way south. Unfortunately we still managed to go through the toll booth 6 times before we effected our escape.
This time we are headed to Montemerano, down by Pitigliano. Does anyone have some instructions on how to exit Europcar and get us going south on the highway?
Many thanks in advance for any help with this.

First, remember that at present Amerigo Vespucci bridge is closed for maintenance, so past itineraries may not apply for the moment. As Borgo Ognissanti is a one way street, you can drive only in the correct direction. After the end of the street, go straight - the street is now much wider. You drive (just half a minute) past a small garden with a round building, then turn right (via Rucellai) and then left (via della Scala). In turning left in via della Scala remember that the left lane is for everybody, the right lane is for buses and taxis only, there is a camera checking now and this is your most dangerous point. When you get to the end of via della Scala and cross the tram tracks, you have to turn left - very obviously you can't at the very first opportunity but you can at the second. After that, you are on the ring road around the center of Florence. You will have to cross the Arno river, than you will have different options if you are headed to the A1 highway or the highway to Siena. But follow the signals and you somehow will get there. Be very careful not to speed over 50 km/h as - whatever your road is - along the ring road and exiting Florence you are bound to meet several speed radars that are the real cash cows of the Florence administration.
