driving in Piedmont

How difficult are the roads...and drivers? Turin to Moncalvo, to Casale-Monferrato, Cerasco, etc.

No big deal driving there. Roads are narrow, just watch your speed and always slow down to 50km/h whenever you enter city limits. The locations you want to visit don't have particularly challenging routes. Everything is easier if you book yourself a hotel situated close to one of the major boulevards leaving the city to the freeways, outside the inner core, but with a subway or tram stop nearby. That you get both easy car access for day-trips out of Torino AND easy access to the central areas should you want to in the evening/night.

The only problem you might run into is fog. It can get quite thick there.
