driving from Venice to Siena... stop in Padua?

Considering a stop in Padua JUST to see the Giotto frescoes (lover of art history.)
Is this over-ambitious?
Thought we'd leave Venice mid-morning and hoping to get to our villa just SW of Siena by dinner.

I think you can do it; you need a reservation, though.

There is parking near the train station; walk to the tram stop nearby and take the tram to the Scrovegni Chapel. Your timed visit will have you in and out in about 35-40 minutes (15 minutes per group inside the chapel).

If you love art history, go to the Chiesa degli Eremetani, in the same area, to see the surviving Mantegna frescoes (the church was heavily bombed during WWII).
