Driving from Venice Marco Polo to Colfosco in the Dolomites

Any advice far as things to see or do on our drive from Venice to Colfosco/Alta Badia? We are doing this in mid June. How are the roads? Thanks for the help

Without specifically looking to see if your route contains any high mountain passes that may close seasonally, I can tell you that most of these types of roads usually open by May, at the latest. It can snow in the mountains at any time of year, but it never accumulates in the summer.

I looked it up on Googlemaps.com and it says the trip is about 50 minutes due north of Venice.
The roads in that area are great, and you won' t have any problems.
If you're picking the car up out @ Venice, be careful on the speed limit. They have radar cameras on the causeway going over to the mainland, and they don't give you 1 kph leeway.

Colfosco is a minimum 4 hours drive from Venice. Drive to Cortina d'Ampezzo and then drive to the Falzarego Pass area, where you'll find the Lagazuoi cable car trip (very quick to the top, so little time is needed). In addition you'll find plenty of WWl history here. Tunnels, bunkers, etc.

The roads are excellent, there won't be snow mid June. We stayed twice in the Alta Badia, 10 minutes from Colfosco. Absolutely spectacular area of the Dolomites. Good choice!

David must be looking at the wrong Colfosco. There are two---in Province of Treviso ( the one he found) and in Province of Bolzano in the Dolomites, which is where Richard wants to go. This Colfosco is just west of Corvara in Alta Badia. Beautiful place---we were there for hiking about 15 years ago.

Yes, the one in the Alta Badia. We are staying at the Hotel Cran Ciasa. 160 per night with half board for two.
