Driving from the A1 to Hotel La Scaletta in Florence, Via Senese??

Ciao, We will be driving from the A1 south bound to Florence and the Hotel La Scaletta in the Oltrarno area of Florence. According to the Hotel directions, one of the main roads, Via Senese, becomes a restricted road allowing only buses and taxis. The directions from the hotel instruct drivers to take an out of the way route which eventually leads to Piazza di Porta Romana. It seems that driving straight up Via Senese to Piazza di Porta Romana is the most direct route. I checked Street View Google Earth and noticed that the section of Via Senese which is suppose to be restricted to buses and taxis has in fact many cars and motorcycles driving the route. Does anyone have first hand experience with this route??? We'll be driving from Sirmione, Lago di Garda, so it will be a long day behind the wheel and I just want the most direct route. Cordiali Saluti, David
ps I will have my hotel invoice with me and will inform the hotel of our arrival to avoid a citation.

I'm answering my own question.
According to the staff at Hotel Scaletta, you can drive all the way Via Senese as long as you present a copy of your hotel reservation.
