Driving from Parma to Monterosso

In our upcoming trip, we are staying in Sirmione and exploring the Lake Garda area for 5 days. Our next stop is Monterosso, but we plan to stop in Parma along the way, to see the city and have lunch there as a way to break up the trip. It looks like the drive from Parma to Monterosso is about 2 hours and we'll be driving over the Apennines. Hopefully it will be a scenic and uneventful drive. My question - is there anything we need to be concerned about or any tips and advice from those who have done this?
Just trying to understand what we'll be in for before we get there! Thanks.

It's a motorway so no problem. Going up from Parma the last stretch towards the highest point (around the Berceto exit and before) - the Cisa tunnel there are quite a lot of bends but just respect the speed limits - they are there for a reason. Going down the other side towards the sea there are long term roadworks because they're replacing a viaduct but last time we went, in May we only queued a few minutes. It's an enjoyable drive.
